Blue Water Baltimore Names Board Members

BALTIMORE, MD (2/21/13) – Stormwater Maintenance and Consulting founder and executive vice president, Theodore Scott, PE, CPESC, LEED AP, has been named vice chairman of the Board of Blue Water Baltimore (BWB) – a non-profit dedicated to restoring the quality of Baltimore’s rivers, streams, and harbor. In addition, Blue Water Baltimore has named six other members from the Baltimore business community to its Board of Directors.

Incoming Vice Chairman Theodore Scott, who’s been on BWB’s Board of Directors for two years, has over 25 years experience in stormwater management and specialty water resources, including many challenging retrofit and repair projects. He is a nationally recognized expert and frequent speaker on design, inspection, construction, maintenance, and repair for all types of stormwater management facilities and drainage infrastructure.

As a business owner, Mr. Scott will spearhead initiatives to increase BWB’s connection with Baltimore’s business community as an important water quality partner.  “Blue Water Baltimore looks forward to Mr. Scott’s involvement in the organization’s leadership and our continuing growth as a regional leader for water quality improvements,” said Halle Van der Gaag, Executive Director of Blue Water Baltimore.

Van der Gaag continued, “His involvement will help strengthen our connection to neighborhoods while deepening our engagement with the business community in a win-win mission to improve water quality in the Baltimore region.”

Other new Board members include:

Kim Battista is a medical illustrator with 20 years experience. She has been on the Board of Trustees of the Creative Alliance for the past eight years and chairs the Building Committee and has co-chaired the organization’s Art to Dine 4 fundraiser.

Dawna Cobb practiced law in the private and public sector for 22 years before becoming the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law in 2006. She recently returned to the UM Carey School of Law to teach courses in negotiation and writing. 

Douglas Horensky is the President and founder of Varia Systems, Inc., a Mid-Atlantic systems integrator providing audio-visual, electronic security, and structured cabling systems to government, educational, healthcare, and corporate clients.

Jennifer Tufaro Nolley is a Development Manager for Terra Nova Ventures, LLC. She has had the opportunity to work on a series of films, including “Ladder 49,” the remake of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” and “An American Affair.”

Pat Rienhoff is a residential realtor in the Baltimore market.  Greg Skipper is a Regional Sales Director at Advertising.com.  As a ten-year veteran of interactive advertising industry, Greg has managed and advised digital advertising and sales operations at both publicly traded and start-up companies throughout the Baltimore area.
